Faribault is a quiet, friendly town - the county seat of Rice County, situated about 49 miles south of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area on Interstate Highway 35. With a population of 20,818, we have a very diverse economic base. Space does not permit listing all of our industries; however, among those that enjoy national acclaim, are 'Tilt-a-Whirl' amusement rides - 'Faribo' woolen blankets - and 'Butter Kernel' canned peas and corn. Many beautiful lakes surround our city. One of our major attractions is the 600-acre River Bend Nature Center. This alone, is worth a trip to our fair city!
